Our Design team at Fletcher Living put a lot of thought into the typology of this home to ensure we chose the right design and lot on-site, to showcase not only the architectural flair but also highlight the skills and talent we have available to us for the BuildHers Project. We landed on a majestic 2-story, 4-bedroom home showcasing weatherboard and brick cladding. The spatial interactions within are well considered and take advantage of the natural beauty and incredible outlook Whenuapai offers.
The house is well articulated through architectural design features, variations in the elevations, materiality, roof heights and overall massing. It creates an appropriate level of visual interest whilst ensuring that it responds to the emerging built form and residential character of Whenuapai. The house takes advantage of the North facing orientation on-site and is filled with Northern light all day long. The primary outdoor living area is located directly from the indoor family area at the rear of the dwelling taking advantage of the early morning Eastern and late afternoon Western sun. The front yard landscaping will assist with softening the visual appearance of the building and appropriately integrating the house into the site.
Our design team have specified a dark moody look on the outside with dark colours on the linea, roof, and joinery, and a stunning textured grey brick. To contrast on the inside it is light and airy with warm tones and a generous kitchen and scullery that any lucky owner will enjoy.
